The NFL Wildcard Playoffs are upon us, and it is just a matter of time until the Super Bowl. All of the records are wiped clean, (including mine) and we start fresh with the NFL playoffs. I love this time of year, and I expect that I will be on my couch with my favorite lady watching the fun all weekend. There is nothing like the NFL playoffs, and picking them is fun too. Here are my picks for the games this weekend in the NFL wildcards Playoffs.
Washington at Seattle – The Redskins have truly impressed late in the season with a powerful running game and a quarterback that nobody would have guessed could still play. The Redskins are riding high while the Seahawks have rode under the radar. Many felt the Seahawks were simply benefitting from a weak division but the Seahawks are much better than that. They might be one of the more dangerous teams for that very reason. Any time you mix NFL Playoff experience, with NFL talent, you have an unpredictable recipee. The Seahawks have not been themselves so to speak this year. They are winning with passing instead of the traditional running game. It is for this reason that I am going with the Redskins in this match up. The Skins can ground the Seahawk defense down with the run, and Collins is playing error free. Redskins win.
Jacksonville at Pittsburgh – This is the best wild card match up by far, and I expect that it will be a slug fest. If the Jaguar running game gets rolling, the Steelers will be in trouble as they can steamroll you when they are on. Fortunately for the Steelers, they have experience and some talent on the defensive side of the ball. The Jaguars are going to put up a huge fight, but the Steelers will win at home. Steelers win.
NY Giants at Tampa Bay – This should be a fun game to watch with a ton of offense to go around. The Bucs are much better than people realize and the Giants are as good as they decide to be on a given week. Even though the Bucs are playing at home, the Giants will pull out this one on the wings of Plaxico. Burress will have a huge game, and the Giants will win going away. Sorry Buc fans. Giants win.
Tennessee at San Diego – This match up will not be close. The Chargers are going to run all over the Titans with LT, LT, LT, and LT. They are peaking at the perfect time. The Titans are a tough team, but they have to much going against them right now.
There you have it. Your NFL Playoff Wildcard predictions for week one. Sit back, grab some popcorn, and watch a weekend of exciting football!
